Spent most of today with a chap called Jack in the edit suite for my upcoming DVD.  The bulk of the DVD is made up of my show that I performed in September, but because of various reasons it's taken us quite a while to finally finish the project.  One of the reasons is because there is so much content.

Both myself and Jack thought that quite a lot of the show would be edited out, streamlining it to create a shorter experience, the problem is that it really is quite good.  The show was two 45 minute sets, and bar a little bit of overly verbose patter in my introduction and someone's mobile going off there really isn't much being left on the cutting room floor.

Add to this that it was a multi-camera shoot, plus had video, pictures and PowerPoint presentation it's become a bit of a nightmare to edit!  However, having looked at the final cut I'm really pleased with how it looks.

Oh, did I mention the extras?  No?

Well, as well as the main cabaret, there was also a sequence shot in the afternoon (plus some afterwards, but that may not get used now) as well as loads of other video clips for bonus content - including clips of me performing at various events as well as a few comedy bits too.

The total running time for the DVD (including the extras) is going to be in the region of 2 hours, all with a proper navigation menu - just like a proper DVD!

Jack needs to tidy up a few bits so the PowerPoint presentation is readable and the video clips that played over the projector are watchable, then render the whole thing down to a master DVD, which is then duplicated thousands of times and put into boxes with my face on the cover.  This stage will probably take a couple of weeks, but it really isnt' long until the final product is finally ready to go, and trust me, I'll make sure I mention it again.
