When organising a party there are a lot of things that need to be arranged. Magic Rob attends LOTS of parties and has plenty of experience. Here's a selection of questions that are regularly asked, but remember, there is no such things as a silly question so please do not hesitate to contact Magic Rob if you can't find the answer here.
What area do you cover?
Magic Rob is based near Reading in Berkshire. This location is conveniently placed close to the M4 which opens up a wide area, giving quick access to the whole of the Home Counties region. Magic Rob performs not only at parties in Newbury, Slough, Bracknell, Maidenhead and Basingstoke, but also into Oxfordshire, Hampshire and towards Guildford in Surrey.
How far do you travel?
Obviously keeping parties within the Berkshire and Home Counties area is convenient, although he regularly travels further a field. With the internet breaking geographical confines Magic Rob regularly receives enquiries from across England (and sometimes further!), and also gets specially requested. This includes regular appearances at the Sandbanks Hotel in Dorset over the summer and festive seasons. As the trips outside Reading and Berkshire are quite frequent it is a good idea to contact Magic Rob as he may be in your area.
When are you available?
Magic Rob is a professional full time magician. This means that he is available during the working week, as well as the weekends. Because he is professional there is no problems with the 'day job' getting in the way, or draining his energy or adding stress, ensuring that Magic Rob is ready for every party. Obviously there is only one Magic Rob, so please complete the contact form to check availability for your party. Please contact Magic Rob as soon as possible to book the party, it is also highly recommended that you check availability before booking the hall and sending out the invitations!
Can I have a quote for a show?
As Magic Rob is a professional magician and children's entertainer he operates a set pricing structure. Magic Rob is a full time professional magician, and the shows are not a way to earn some extra cash at weekends. To find out the cost for a package please contact Magic Rob supplying the relevant information, please bear in mind that due to location travel costs may apply if you are outside the Home Counties area.
What does the show involve?
This depends on what package option you require and the age of the children. The show is in continual development with new tricks being added and old ones improved and adapted, meaning that two parties are never the same. However, all the shows have a variety of tricks and constantly change pace to keep children's attention through-out the show. This includes playing games, using helpers, awarding prizes, colourful props, visual comedy and puppets. All new routines are scripted and rehearsed before being used for the first time, ensuring that the show is of a consistently high quality.
What age group is it best for?
The youngest practical age is 3, but there is no real limit on maximum ages. It is recommended that all the children are about the same age, as what a 3 year old finds entertaining is different to what a 6 year old finds entertaining. For children older than 8 I recommend a hands on magic workshop over a pure magic show. Although the shows are aimed at children, adults are encouraged to stay (and regularly join in of their own free will) because the presentation is based around good solid entertainment, not just a collection of magic tricks or making silly faces. Magic Rob also performs for adults, so is capable at dealing with any older children that may not appreciate a puppet routine.
What happens next?
Firstly please contact Magic Rob to ensure that he is available for the date you require - in some instances he can be booked over a year in advance by bookers eager to ensure his availability! Magic Rob then posts you two copies of an agreement for you to check, sign, and return in a pre-paid envelope, enclosing a deposit (made payable to Magic Rob's company account). This process may seem long winded, but it allows you to relax with piece of mind knowing you are dealing with a professional entertainer. You just need to supply the venue, the food and a room full of party-goers!
