The first (of many!) Christmas parties of 2017 was on Friday evening – the 1st of December – for the employees of everyLife Technologies. It was at the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Frimley, which is between Farnborough and Camberley in Surrey.
If never been to Pine Ridge Golf Club (although I have been to a few golf clubs in the area over the years) and it’s quite deceptive. On the outside and as you go in it’s quite a modern building, but on turning left and going down a couple of steps you go into a much older room; with a solid wooden floor and beams, open fire and even a suit of armour.
Sometimes I go to Christmas parties with hundreds of people (for example, on Saturday evening was at my second Christmas booking of the year with approximately 500 guests sitting around 44 tables!) but this was a more intimate event with about fifty guests. I started mingling with the guests on arrival, then once they sat down continued around the five tables.
That way most of the guests saw some magic in the bar, and all saw magic once they were sat down. Naturally I work around the tables avoiding the waiting staff when food is getting served and the guests are eating. This ensures that people don’t feel as so they are waiting for food – or magic.
By the time the main course (of turkey and roast potatoes, of course!) was getting served I had entertained around each of the tables, and even managed to return to some just to mess with their heads a little more.
This morning I received an email from Chloé who organised the event:
I just wanted to say thank you for Friday, you were absolutely amazing, I’ve overheard a lot of conversations this morning about how good you were and how great it was to have you there.
The *** explanation of the magic I did is removed to ensure no surprises are ruined if you book me for a future event *** is still absolutely blowing my mind!
Thanks again, I will be recommending you to friends and family for future events.
Time is running short for Christmas parties this year (though there is still a little availability so you may be lucky!) but if you are organising a party for next year; or even a birthday, wedding or corporate event, get in contact by completing the “Get a quote” form or email me directly on firstname.lastname@example.org.
