Off to Kent – Again…!

On Saturday 30th April I had a trip down to Kent (my second trip to Kent in a week, you can read about my first here) to perform magic at a wedding at Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells.

Tunbridge Wells wedding magicIt was my first time at this venue and it is a really nice hotel with a classic “English country” style to it – even down to the way the receptionist and staff were dressed.

The wedding was for Hayley and Allan, and was a late afternoon ceremony. I entertained the guests whilst Hayley and Allan were posing for their photographs. This started with the champagne reception in the wonderful grounds, but as there was a chill in the air everyone relocated themselves in doors.

All the wedding guests enjoyed watching the magic and getting involved. After their photo session was complete Hayley and Allan also joined the main group and also got involved in the magic too – though trying to read Hayley’s mind was a little problematic; especially when it turned out the word she was thinking of was a made up word! 😉

I also received an email from them the other day thanking me.

Hi Robert,

Big thanks to yourself. We all enjoyed your magic and has added some special memories.
We had a lovely evening.

Best wishes

Hayley and Allan

Oh, and why the picture of the clocks? Well, when I was waiting to start (and no, it’s not because I always try and early) I was preparing in the lounge, and on the wall above the fireplace was an array of clocks. However, that’s not the reason for the photograph. The real reason is because of the tea caddies on the mantlepiece – and my parents have one just like that which they use every day.
